My Background
Hi there, my name is Shirley and I have been blessed to be a member of the NAID family since 2002. I am the second authorized breeder of NAIDs (founded by Majestic View Kennels) with Terra Pines being the first. I have experienced a rich and colorful past which has blessed me with the knowledge and dedication to continue the breeding program of this amazing breed. I spent 16 years working in the medical field, which included 7 years as an operating room technician. I served 5 years as a mate on the 105 ft 3-masted Barque “Buccaneer Queen” in San Pedro, California. In addition,I worked as a assistant PADI SCUBA instructor and as galley cook for Scuba Queen Charters.

Giving back When time permits, I am also a volunteer. I served a 3 year duty as a volunteer firefighter in Jacksonville, North Carolina. My love for entering fully engulfed buildings earned me the honorary name of “Lady Firefighter”. This was a real accomplishment for me, as the fire department had few women firefighters in the early 1990s. I served with the Pierce County Equine Search and Rescue team in Washington State, and the Canine Search and Rescue team in sitka Alaska. I also volunteered at the Sitka Animal Shelter as a kennel assistant.

Looking After the Animals
I have been actively involved with dog and wild animal rescue since 1975, and have helped place wolves, coyotes, weasels, otters, skunks, raccoons, and birds. From 1995 through 1997, I volunteered at the Alaska Raptor Rehabilitation Center in Sitka, Alaska. During this time, I completed a veterinarian technician course and acted as the “on call”vet tech. The Raptor Center’s focus is rehabilitating injured birds of prey, which includes the majestic Bald Eagle as well as different species of owls and other birds of prey.

Harmony as a Breeding Philosophy
As a small scale hobby puppy provider, I strive to produce family companion dogs that exemplify the breed standard in health, appearance, and temperament. Puppies are carefully handled and socialized from the time they are born to the moment they are placed with their new family.I only breed if I have deposits and potential puppy parents are carefully screened before a deposit is accepted.Deposits will be refused if I don't feel the home is appropriate. The health and well being of our pups is our number one concern.

Considering a Puppy?
If you are considering adding a Night Eyes Farm Native American Indian Dog puppy to your family, I am happy to speak to you and assist you in making an educated decision about the right choice of a puppy for your family. Potential buyers must be emotionally mature, and have a stable home environment with a secure fenced yard. Above all, your puppy must be part of your everyday life. NAID puppies are a slow developing breed and may retain puppy habits until they are 18 months old. If you can't deal with puppy behaviors for that period of time, please consider another breed. Any companion animal should be considered a family member. Humans and animals can go through difficult periods. Would you give your child away if he/she became difficult? Owning a pet is no different. Please be responsible if you chose to obtain a pup from us. We do not condone any animal as throw away possessions!
Extended Family
Much like an extended family, I enjoy staying in touch with pups and their families after they leave us. I like to maintain contact with puppy families so that I can learn from our customers about how their dogs are growing and maturing. The feedback is important to me. I maintain many wonderful relationships with Night Eyes Farm puppy owners and truly enjoy comparing notes and sharing photos and experiences.
Before your puppy leaves,, he/she will have been exposed to birds, cats and living indoors. To assist their mothers, puppies are supplemental bottle fed which aids in the human bonding process.
